This 60's actress hailing from Java, Talitha Getty, is often referred to as a fashion icon and muse. Her Moroccan flavored resort style is very inspiring, even today. She was often seen in ethnic caftans and heavy exotic jewelry. Her resort style mostly consisted of airy and drapey garments with plenty of room, and a touch of 60's psychedelic flavor. Her closet was filled with effortless cotton, gauze and chiffon pieces, fundamental materials that enabled her to move around without stress free.
She is also known as one of Yves Saint Laurent's muses, and he described her style and the 60's era best; “I knew the generation of the 60s: Talitha and Paul Getty lying under a roof of stars in Marrakesh, beautiful and damned, and a whole generation assembled as if for eternity where the curtain of the past seemed to rise on an extraordinary future.” Tragically, Talitha Getty passed away at an early age, but we would have loved to see her advanced style if she was around now!
We put together a few resort styles that were inspired by her last years in Marrakesh, Morocco.
