DVF's Wrap Dress: Now and Then
(Wrap Dress on Diane, 1976 ------ Wrap Dress from Pre-Fall Collection)
Back in 1970, Diane Von Furstenberg started her fashion empire with a $30,000 investment. By 1973, her signature wrap dresses had become her iconic piece, and they are still relevant today, holding an enduring beauty in women's fashion. It was an innovation at the time; flared and princess silhouetted dresses were in, and this was the opposite. The wrap dress made getting dressed in the morning so easy for a women, with its simple construction. It was feminine and glamorous, but effortless and chic, and make you look like a million dollars just like that, without spending an hour in front of mirror. Since then, wrap dresses have been re-interpreted in many ways and modernized with style, pattern, and silhouette! It is still a hands-down staple for women of today.
