Band of Outsiders Pullover

 

We had a pre-snow rainy day in New York City yesterday, and it made us think of this Band of Outsider's Pullover Hoodie, a great rain jacket to block your favorite wool coat from soaking up the rain drops. The nylon coated cotton is 100 percent waterproof and has a pop of red plaid that you can just pull on over a jacket when there is a sudden weather change. Adam Kimmel released another amazing video! This time an exclusive for Vogue Italia, showing a little behind the scenes footage of his past collections with some dialogue on his inspirations for them. After watching this, we had a more intimate connection with his earlier work, and with the artists that influenced it; George Condo, Snoop Dogg, and Dan Ottoe. Carven is featured in Lula Magazine's issue #13.  The story spotlighted on the designer, Guillaume Henry with an exclusive interview and some beautiful editorial shots. In this FW collection, he pictured "a cool, clever, elegant woman, who wouldn't spend like four hours in the bathroom to prepare herself. She would just take a fur coat with brogue shoes."  His design is classy and feminine and took inspirations from Carven's historical archive, but made it effortless and modern. Blackgold Records in Brooklyn

Last weekend I stopped by a shop called Black Gold in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. The subway was messed up because of construction, so it took twice the time to get there, but it was totally worth it. Black Gold is a cafe, record store, and antique store mixed together. While you browse the records (everything there is near mint!) in the cozy atmosphere full of beautiful antiques, you can also have a great drip Rook Roasters coffee. All the music genres are mixed, so you have to go through each crate. I scored some LPs and a couple of 45s, also two coffees and good shortbread. I don't know if there are any shops like that in New York. A visit is highly recommended!!

Martin Margiela Shearling Boots

 

It's finally a boot season (!!!) in New York, the time when you will need a tough pair on your feet to walk on the frosty ground. These Martin Margiela Shearling Boots are a great pair to overcome Winter's chill. The shearling leather is specially treated to embody a broken-in texture, and the rigid Vibram sole is very light, so there is no stress of a heavy Winter boot. This pair is part of the "Replica" series and is based on a ski-boot from the 70's, yet has very modern and unique character. The Zip-up closure is highly preferred for its ease of use!
