Men's Sneakers Round Up!

 

 

Aloha Rag is known for the impeccable sneaker selection, and the cold weather can't seem to slow us down... quite the opposite! We've received many unique sneakers this season including sports brands such as Converse and Nike, and also from the fashion Maisons such as Lanvin, Martin Margiela, and Yves Saint Laurent. YSL Muse Two

 Yves Saint Laurent's Muse Two has an adorable square face and elegant hardware details. This boxy bag has returned to the spotlight since the come back of "classic" style, which is hinted at by it's lady-like single strap. The minimal design is livened up with the use of color and material blocking, a fun modern detail to make the bag a step up from a just a basic bag. New Feature: "A Walk In The Park"

 

The new feature, "A Walk In The Park" has just launched on the website yesterday! We made a visit to Fort Tyron Park, and the Cloisters the other day to capture nature in Autumn, and it came out really beautiful with various organic color palettes and some beautiful sunshine! AR News: 10.31.11

 

 

Tatsugo flew to Japan last week for a few meetings with AR manufactures and oversee the collection samples. Besides an update on the design process of the FW12 collection, we are very happy to be informed that the AR FW11 collection is doing very well in it's other retail stores! The shirt dress and tunic series are one of the top sellers in women's, and for men's,the  Mod Coat is pretty popular from the collection.

 

This mod-style coat comes in two colors, versatile Black and Khaki. The contrasting sleeves are an eye-catching detail, but in a subtle and classic way. The body is constructed of a material called "horsecloth", which was originally was used underneath a horse's saddle. The material is thin and light but has a crisp-feeling and is well known for it's durability because the threads are tightly woven. The coat is lined with detachable lining made of Thinslate, a popular fabric that is known keeping heat in and not being to heavy or bunchy. A perfect material for Winter coats.

The Row Vesper Vest

 

Fur has always been a symbol of ultimate luxury for women. This Vesper Vest by The Row is definitely one of the dream items this season. Get the Look: Thakoon Striped Sweater

 

A crew neck sweater is definetely the key piece for an ideal Fall and Winter wardrobe. Thakoon's wool / cashmere pullover sweater has a fitted silhouette, and comes in a creamy beige/grey combo, giving a soft and girlie touch to an outfit. Besides the triangle panel on the right side, our favorite detail is the off centered slit on the hem. It is a subtle approach, but such a unique accent! Here are three styles we composed using the sweater; casual, rock, and classic. The sweater works really well in numerous occasions!

Spotlight: Robert Geller

Robert Geller always brings us great staple pieces with unique twists and an exceptional fit. In his FW11 collection, the designer's Rock-n-Roll spirit came alive in the garments, without being too literal. Instead of the typical black leathers and ripped jeans, the collection sported a muted color palette and used  material texture to be expressive. Even though the silhouettes are slim and sleek, a careless and easy mood resonates as a fundamental aesthetic in his designs... We received some Winter outerwear and some cold season staples, such as button down shirts, sweatshirts, and denim. We are pleased to announce that Nike x Undercover's "Gyakusou" sneakers have finally arrived at Aloha Rag!!! Super-light and functional, these running shoes are extraordinary detailed and color combos are pretty amazing...!!! These 4 styles are limited to 54 pairs each in the United States, and we've received a good amount. If you are interested, please call the hawaii or NY store, as these won't be available online for a week or so. We are sure they will not stay here for long, so please move quick!!

Lanvin's Nylon Zip Jacket was featured in the current issue of Fantastic Man. It has the right balance of athletic feel and beautiful tailoring, and is a great embodiment of Lanvin's specialities with it's signature raw hem and slim fit.

Get the Look: 3.1 Phillip Lim Sweater!

Fall is officially here in New York, and we're all pulling our heavier layers out of the closet. As winter sets in, sometimes colorful clothing takes a backseat, but a dash of gold to your FW wardrobe never hurt anyone.  The 3.1 Phlilip Lim Crew Neck Sweater panelled together three different materials into a raglan-style cut. The front and back are knitted fine wool, the sleeves are a chunkier knit mohair, and the side panels are smooth cotton. The three styles, pictured above, show you 3 different ways the pair it, and as you can see, the unusual color is quite easy to team up with casual and classic styles!

In Vogue Paris's September issue, Thomas Wylde's Evening Dress and Giuzeppe Zanotti's Cap Toe Pumps were featured!! The editorial pics, shot by Josh Olins in black and white, are elegantly dramatic, and the styling is amazing! The dress is a great evening piece for the coming party season. The power shoulder and Thomas Wylde's signature crystallized embellishments are just drop-dead gorgeous! GZ's pumps have been in the press since they came out.
