Diane Von Furstenberg has just released her carry-on canvas tote bags in LEOPARD!!!, and we received three colors, green, grey, and  brown. The bag has enough room to hold magazines and a laptop, and the strap allows you to carry it as shoulder bag! The Kooks at Bowery Ballroom

 

On Monday, I went to see The Kooks at Bowery Ballroom. They are one of my favorite UK bands, and I was so happy to see them live! I moved  around so much, I beat my shoes up, and ripped the sole right off, but it was totally worth it! It's always the best to see your favorite band actually play live. AR SS12 Women's Pre Collection Sneak Peek!

Here is an exclusive Sneak Peek of our SS12 Women's Pre-Collection. We just shot the look book a few weeks ago, and our sales team is in Paris right now showing it off to all the buyers! As you can see here, the collection is based around feminine essentials in fundamental tones, with a splash of color here and there for pop! Each item was painstakingly refined by the design team to accomplished the perfect fit, and the quality of fabrication is so so beautiful...!! Models On The Runways

We saw a few familiar faces on the runways of the latest  shows in Milan! On the left, Milo walked in the Alexander McQueen show, and on the right, Frey walked in the Rick Owens show! Both look like perfect representation of the designer's world... We are happy to see them on major runways, and hope to see you guys again soon! 

Trend Watch: Watercolors

 

Watercolors are light and refreshing for the eyes when high temperatures hit the city. They have the power to cool down the wearer, and even cool down the people who see them! Here are some items currently available at Aloha Rag with beautiful sorbet hues! These mild colors are less of a challenge to wear, and so for people who usually shy away from bright colors, these are perfect. Try it, add one of these soft-hued colors to an outfit of white or black (or both), and the whole style looks so very different!

Ai Wei Wei Has been Released!

 

Ai Wei Wei, the artist from China, has been released after the three month detention. The truth about his time inside is still unclear, but we are so happy to see him go home!  We here at Aloha Rag believe in Art and Freedom! Let's keep an eye out for his next move, it will probably be huge...

The Row's Pre-Fall collection is here at Aloha Rag, and we are amazed by the quality and tailoring of the luxury materials... The silhouettes are inspired by the bold 70's fashion era, which can be seen in the sinewy jackets, sleek trousers and feathery silk blouses. The masculinity of the collection pulls out a women's femininity in very subtle yet elegant ways. Recent Purchases: Martin Margiela, and many more!

Here are a few of my recent purchases from Aloha Rag... ! I finally got the Martin Margiela Twisted Sandals. The leather is buttery soft and easy to pull on. The sole starts out a little slippery, so be careful when you walk down slopey streets! After a few wears, mine are perfect!!!

 

I also got the half sleeve sweater and shorts by 3.1 Phillip Lim. He is one of my favorite designers we carry, and the sweater is the best item to put on in chilly rainy weather. 

 

Last but not least, I bought the  3.1 Phillip Lim shirt dress! Can you see it in the reflection? HATAKE is the Italian restaurant in Omote Sando. Stop by when you have a chance!

Art & About: Still Here Now 06.16.11

 

I stopped into "STILL HERE NOW"  last Thursday at Panda Gallery in Lower East Side. The opening was packed, and I only stayed for a sec, but I recommend you swing by if you are in the city. The show will be up until July 16... Check out more works and photos from the opening here! 

 

Seen On The Streets: Motorcycle Jacket!

 

Major city's streets are full of style inspirations. You can spot unique styles and current trends if you just sit back on a corner and observe for a couple of minutes! Take the women above for example...Her  style is composed of basics that all girls should have in the closet, but it is put together so well!! It starts with skinny fit raw denim which gives you a clean yet casual base. Then added in is the playfulness of a gingham shirt, and the contrasting toughness of a Motocycle jacket (a great way to top any outfit). And to finish it all up she added a feminine touch with lady-like pumps to counter the rough leather! Job well done!

JUST IN: Alexander Wang Bags!

 

Alexander Wang was announced as the Accessory Designer Of The Year by the CFDA a few weeks ago! Since he debuted the accessory collection in 2008, his Coco Duffel, Brenda Chain and Donna shoulder bag became "it" bags instantly. Since then, season after season, he has released distinguished hit bags and has achieved great success in designing edgy and unique accessories. The top image is of bags we have received recently, including his new style Robyn Hobo (far left) and new colors for the FW11 season, Butterscotch and Espresso. The rich and warm tones are perfect to begin the new season! Hardware accents are the trademark of Alexander Wang's bag collection, and they stand out, and are hardly mistaken for another.
