YODA vs BECKHAM

Hey everyone! Today we slip a little bit out of our routine changing from a fashion blog to a soccer player paparazzi site.

Upon perusing a soccer website one of our buyers came across this photo that struck her attention. The pic prominently displays the Beckhams stepping outside. Look a little closer and low and behold there is our dear Yoda peering out from the far left corner!!

I couldn’t believe my eyes for a moment!

And who is that strange character, arms crossed, standing just behind?? Why, could it be our beloved Keisuke??

Well, the Beckhams don’t disappoint. As always, they radiate class and style.♪ If any two people in the world can claim to be the hottest modern super couple this pair has definitely earned it!

Golden Visit...

A few weeks ago Alessandro and Francesca, the amazing couple behind the Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, stopped by the new Aloha Rag Showroom to chat with Yoda about their upcoming season. It is always pleasure to have them in your company as they tale the tales of their world travels and rare and beautiful finds. This season's clothing is based on their tale of a "Trip to the Himalayas". The FW10 collection is full of plush down jackets and wool blazers and trousers. Footwear has taken a turn with Shearling lined crepe sole driving shoes for Men and Clogs for Women. Of course the luxurious sweatpants and sneakers are back again with the best feel and cut in the business. 5 pieces that I stop and look at every time I pass them in the store...

1. Factotum Cheetah Print Backpack.
Introduced to America this season by Aloha Rag, Factotum has been a staple brand in it's native Japan for years. This backpack boasts a Wool Cheetah print fabric in a dark blue/purple and all seams are finished in a deep black suede.

2. Wendy Reed Patch Work Shawl Collar Cardigan.
This Cashmere sweater is HAND STITCHED together, and the work that goes in to each piece is immense. Needless to say the finish is amazing and the wool flannel panel keeps the fit trim.

3. Adam Kimmel Blue Suede Dessert Boots.
With a nod to Elvis Presley's Blue Suede appreciation, Adam's Desert Boots are a great update to a classic. The suede is soft and supple and dark enough to hide everyday blemishes to keep the boots beautiful through the seasons.

To wrap yourself in this jacket is to be the definition of WARM! I can see myself on a dark snowy night in New York not having to run to shelter as fast as I can because this jacket is doing it's thing. That's what I want in a jacket!

Number (N)ine X Converse Odessa Now Available

When Takahiro Miyashita was in his last months of doing the cult label Number (N)ine, he worked on a pack of three shoes with Converse that were to be considered a farewell. He started by revamping Converse classics, the One Star and Chuck Taylor, by rendering them in a napped deer leather and bringing in an asymmetrical lacing system he found while browsing through Converse's shoe archive. This lacing system was on the Converse Odessa, a running shoe whose designer thought about comfort and performance over tradition. The shoes pictured above are Miyashita's updated interpretation of the Odessa, limited to 48 pairs in the United States, and come natural (white) and black color ways.
